The nearest main town on the coast is the busy fishing and ferry port of Denia. It is a popular and lively holiday resort in summer, and is about 20 minutes from the villa. Close inland is the country town of Pego nestling amongst orange groves at the foot of magnificent low mountains. Pego is good for most routine shopping. Leisure facilities locally include 3 golf courses within 25 kms (15 miles) including Oliva Nova Golf, a Severiano Ballesteros designed par 73 course alongside the sea 15 minutes from the villa. 

MONTE PEGO is 4 kms inland from the beach and halfway between the provincial capitals of Valencia and Alicante. Both airports are readily accessible via the toll highway, each just over an hour away. A car is essential. A particularly enjoyable feature of life in these parts is the many restaurants and bars serving all kinds of dishes, including 'tapas' and Paella, often at remarkably low prices.
