| Alentejo is a south-central
region of Portugal. Its name's origin, "além do Tejo", literally
translates to "beyond the Tagus". The region is separated from the rest
of Portugal by the Tagus river, and extends to the south where it borders
the Algarve. There are four sub-regions; the Alto (High) Alentejo, the
Baixo (Lower) Alentejo, the Alentejo Central, and the Alentejo Litoral.

is ideal for family parties who like to discover untapped, unspoilt holiday
spots. As there are two units - a main house for 6 and a bungalow for 4
- so for larger groups you can holiday together but still have your own
space. As you enter the property by the gate, ahead of you is a marbled
patio with a garden to the left, the main house to the right and the bungalow
straight ahead. The main house has a downstairs that sleeps 4 and a separate
apartment, reached by the stairs immediately to the right of the gates,
that sleeps 2. On the other side of the main house is a games room with
pool table and dart board. There is another garden between the far end
of the main house and behind the bungalow. The gardens have beautiful flowering
plants and the requisite lemon trees - for the 'ice and a slice' |

is spacious with an open plan room in which there is the kitchen, dining
and living areas. There is a large open fireplace in the living area. It
has a high attractive wooden roof. There are two bedrooms that sleep two
in each, one bedromm is very long and an extra bed can be put in comfortably,
on request. The apartment has an open kitchen and living area off which
is a bedroom with a double bed and en-suite bathroom. There is a games
room with a pool table and dartboard. Outside is a marbled terrace with
a marbled table, ideal for the BBQ. Lemons are available in the garden
for that early evening Gin and Tonic. |
